Leather Forever by Hermes; London

On the 8th of May 2012 through to the 27th  the Royal Academy's sister space at 6 Burlington gardens will house the 175th birthday celebration of Hermes! the Leather Forever exhibition will not only showcase the iconic brand's journey from a harness and saddle maker to creator of the classic Birkin, but you will also get to see some bags being made before your eyes! Also at the exhibition will be a collection of four one-of-a-kind bags representing England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales which will be auctioned off with the proceeds going towards the Royal Academy.
If I was able to I would definitely give this a visit, especially as its free entry.

Wish Box - Missguided

I am loving this shirt I think this would make a great holiday evening piece, sheer light fabric so you won't over heat, yet still smart and sophisticated for an evening meal or event. I am yet to be converted to having all the buttons done up on a shirt ( it seems to make me look huge) so I would wear it with a few buttons undone and a bikini top underneath. I would team with a bralet if not on holiday.

another piece I chose with my holiday in mind is these shorts. Again the light floaty fabric is perfect for the hot day times of holidays, and the warm summers of home, a slightly quirky piece which I would pair with a knotted denim shirt

I thought this necklace would easily add a splash of colour to any outfit which I wear it with. As well as being a subtle nod to the tribal trend.

My wildcard of this wish box would be these leggings these were definitely not picked with holiday sun in mind and would without a doubt be more suited to the English weather. They are quite far away from what I would usually wear but I find myself drawn to them! and the fact that vertical stripes are meant to be lengthening on the leg is a definite bonus! ( I am fairly short) If I somehow get an influx of cash soon these are what I would first purchase I think.

all these items are from missguided

part outfit post. SUMMER

So this was my first attempt at a ( summery/holiday) outfit post, and as you can see it didn't go very well! I don't have a tripod for my camera so I had to enlist my friend. However we were in quite a rush and I am very picky with pictures so none came out as I'd like. However I will explain it to you, I wore this skirt from Awear which I bought on a whim in the sale as I think this will perfect for the slightly cooler summer nights. It is very high waisted so I teamed it with a black and white stripy bikini top edged in goldy-yellow which I think I purchased from Primark last year. I added a customised Primark gold and black chain belt as a necklace and the bracelets shown, these are a necklace bought from accesorize a few years ago which I wrapped round twice and also a bracelet from a market stall, I also have  my friendship bracelet on. My nails were painted with Rimmel I love last finish 060 Hot & Spicy. Then I taped of a diagonal section of my nail and painted it black before covering with Rimmel pro matte top coat. I then added a vertical stripy cropped baggy shirt ( taken many aeons ago from mums wardrobe) which I tied off at my waist. On holiday I would complete this look with sunkissed skin, a floppy hat and some large sunglasses.
I promise to try and bring more of an actual outfit next time!

Do you have any summer outfits? I would love to see them.

Agyness Deyn X Dr. Martens

Having appeared in ad campaigns for the iconic shoe brand Dr. Martens in fall 2011 and spring 2012 the only next logical step for Ms Deyn is of course to collaborate with them and launch a limited edition clothing, footwear and accessories line for fall 2012!
Agyness purchased her first pair of Dr. Martens when she was just 13 and I think with her androgynous looks this will be a match made in heaven!

Are you a fan of Dr, Martens?

MAC by request

Have you ever fallen in love with a MAC product only for it to be discontinued? and then your only hope is an extortionately priced eBay seller or similar? well good news! MAC is giving you the chance to decide which out of 18 discontinued products you want bought back to life!  You will be asked to vote from 6 lipsticks, lip gloss's and eye shadows. You can see the full line up and vote on their facebook. Voting closes on march 30th so get moving!

Creeper collab.

Love-them-or-hate them creepers have absolutely blow up recently, they have been gracing our catwalks and sported by the likes of Rihanna and Jessie J. In wake of this fall of 2012 will play host to two new creeper collaborations.

Fam Irvoll -
A Norwegian fashion designer who debuted a quirky colourful mashup of textures and prints adorned with ghoulish faces titled "monstermash" at london fashion week. With a very on trend pastel palette I can see this being a collection that everyone could find something they liked in, amongst the gaping mouths and big eyes of monsters, which may only be suited to the more brave, nestle little understated gems of a gorgeous pastel shorts with an understated quirky print or some chic ready for summer dress. Of course the main idea which I am rambling to get to is the creepers. Underground England ( otherwise known as " king of the creeper") translated irvoll's designs keeping the bang on trend colours and edgy shapes to make sure that this collection was finished off in style. There's even something for the kids too!

Sibling-
another outlandish collection however this time with acid brights taking centre stage. Creepers were adorned with everything from bold prints to aztec designs making for a very exciting collection which you cannot help but notice!

collaborations will be available from-  www.underground-england.co.uk

Are you a creeper fan? do you like these collections?

HARRODS glossybox.

I was very much looking forward to receiving my Harrods edition Glossy box, I even stopped myself from reading reviews so that I could be pleasantly surprised, and I was! The box was lovely and looked very sophisticated in white. Inside were 5 decent sized samples from high end producers.

1. Clarins extra firming body cream ( available here at feelunique)
" A formula rich in regenerating and firming plant extracts which restore the skins youthful density and elasticity"
I've always quite enjoyed using Clarins products and I am going to save this one to use just before my holiday ( I blogged about here) to see if it firms anything up, and will let you know how I get on!

2. Bliss blood orange and white pepper body butter ( available here at blissworld
" Deeply moisturising, skin softening, naturally rejuvenating body butter in mouth watering blood orange and white pepper"
When I first saw this I was quite sceptical of the white pepper bit, I like spicy smells in terms of cinnamon but I thought pepper was a bit far! however my fears were unfounded. This butter melts deliciously into the skin leaving no oily residue and smells divine ( I love citrus smells).

3. Lancome Juicy tubes - Tofffee R 'n' B ( available here at lancome)
"Ultra shiny hydrating gloss"
first things first, this smells gorgeous! I think my love for sweet scents just surpasses that of mine for citrus. This gloss is a light toffee colour with golden flecks which I think will look great on holiday with a tan or on darker skinned girls.  I have 2 Lancome juicy tubes both which have practically sat unused in  my make up bag for ages, I've never been a gloss person finding it too sticky and messy. A slight dab of this gloss rubbed in is fine for me but anything more and I get my usual sticky lip phobia. However if you are a fan of gloss and the stickyness isn't too much of a bother for you then give it a go!

4. Revive intensive creme lustre spf30 ( available here at spacenk)
"An intensive, firming moisturiser that helps to reduce the appearance of sagging skin"
Once again this is a moisturiser that sinks in really well leaving smooth soft skin, it has a slightly perfumed smell rather than the natural scent of the Bliss moisturiser but is still lovely. It also has spf 30 which is brilliant! even on a cloudy day those pesky UV rays are giving you wrinkles girls! This is another product which I am going to save untill closer to my holiday to start using, at £235 for a full size I'm hoping it works miracles!

5.Versace vanitas versace eau de parfum ( available here at house of fraser)
" A luxurious scent from the house of Versace. Vanitas is a rich and voluptuous fragrance with notes of tiare flower, lime and freesia"
I believed that I saved the best till last, I absolutely adore the little packaging of this! It is not one of those tacky plastic tube testers, but just and adorable Alice in wonderland shrunken size of the original. It seriously smells lovely, this is going to be my "posh" perfume, one for fancy dinners and balls as such, considering as well that I only like subtle hints of perfume then it should last!

Has anyone else received this glossy box? what did you think?

Surprise holiday prep

So as I am in my first year at uni and have not got myself a new job yet I kind of accepted that I would not be going on holiday this year to any where remotely exotic or outside of England. Cue my boyfriend:

Him: I have a mission for you this week
Me: erm ok?...( a worried look on my face)
Him: find a holiday for us, somewhere quiet and sunny, at the beginning of summer ( he then went on to detail the budget and boarding etc) I'll pay, you just save up your spending money.

I am ecstatic! and so very grateful to him. I know that when I have a bad day I can just look for holidays and it will instantly cheer me up.

Though of course with A holiday now on the horizon I have to do the usual pre holiday body blitz. Recently I have been doing Jillian's 30 days shred, not religiously as is meant to but I figured some exercise is better than none. I have now vowed to myself to keep this up.

I also plan to change my eating habits ( I am a bit of a junk food lover) I let myself have my last sinful breakfast this morning ( bacon egg and cheese bagel) and from now on am going to try my hardest to eat more fruit and veg and to generally be more active, no more lazy days in my pyjamas when I don't have uni !

I'll let you know how well I manage to stick to this and any little tips and tricks which I find have helped.
Is anyone else planning a holiday this year? where too? do you have a pre-holiday ritual?

Coral Crazy

So I always get a bit excited when the first signs of spring start popping up and this year that excitement manifested itself in me going coral crazy in the shops, especially taking advantage of the 3 for 2 offer currently on Rimmel products.

Rimmel London I love lasting finish- 060 Hot & Spicy (available here):
With this I first prepped my nails with Sally Hansens instant stregnth as my nails can get quite flaky at the ends, I haven't been using this enough to warrant a big difference! I then applied Hot & Spicy I was really impressed with how the formula applied and received compliments on the colour. I then sealed it with Rimmel London 5in1 Nail treat, which is also a nail strengthener which I use. I think this nail varnish is great value for its money, it did start chipping fairly quickly but with my nails that happens all the time.

Rimmel London Powder Blush- 012 Coral Rose (available here):
Now I originally thought that I would only be able to get away with this blusher when I had a tan, however sweeped lightly on my cheeks its looks gorgeous, especially coupled with some contouring as it has a slight shimmer which makes it lovely as a highlighter . It is a very soft blendable formula and being the first coral blusher I have purchased ( I usually am a pink girl due to my pale complexion and dark hair) I am very impressed.

My third purchase in this offer was a lipstick but I am saving that for a later post!

has anyone else started buying their spring make up yet?
