first attempt; leopard pint nails with no nail art tools.

So this is my first attempt at leopard print nails, I dont think it went too bad especially as I do not have any nil art tools. You will have to excuse the picture as I didn't have time to clean up around the edges of my nails :(
Anyway I started with a Rimmel clear base coat, followed by two coats of a shimmery pearly white which is unbranded as far as I know. I then used a biro ( I would use a cocktail stick but we didn't have any) to dot OPI's rising star over my nails. Then as I do not own a black nail art pen I used a liquid eyeliner which once covered once again with my clear Rimmel polish was a good as anything, and a lot easier to control too!

Clinique chubby stick review

While on holiday I thought I would do a bit of shopping at the end to finish of my euros. My beauty related purchases were; this chubby stick from clinique which I had been eying since it had been released ( I bought it for 15 euros with a discount). I bought in shade Mega Melon as I am still on my coral-y orange phase for summer. I'm actually really pleased with this purchase, it is lovely and moisturising with a nice shine and also a subtle hint of colour, like a balm, lipstick and gloss in one! I find it very easily to apply, even if I don't have a mirror I can sweep it on like a balm, with a mirror I kind of 'colour in' my lips with more precision like a lipstick. It looks like it will last a while as I only need a few swipes for my desired colour, so fingers crossed! I also bought a face and body soap from clinique formulated for break outs and spot prone skin as my face definitely took a turn for the worst on holiday! I have been using it twice and day and will give a bit of time before I give my verdict.

The return of the orange blazer

This is another outfit I wore on holiday ( excuse the weird pose/face my boyfriend was doing something silly out of camera view) I picked up this black and white aztec dress in the sale at new look Its quite short and not something I would wear bare legged in the uk, but like everyone I go crazy in the sunshine! I not only love the print of this dress but it also has 3/4 sleeves which is awesome as I am not a fan of the tops of my arms. I thought I would pair it with my orange blazer, that despite me ironing is still wrinkly! to add a bit of colour. I actually loved how this outfit turned out and it would certainly be one I would wear again.

Holiday maxi dress

So after a long time of thinking I was too short and not slim enough for a maxi dress I have found the perfect style for me. I bought this dress from glamorousuk and I love it! It fits me perfectly despite the usual trouble I have being short and having a... err 'ample chest' and the elasticated waist really flatters my figure. The springs around the straps can be moved up or down to change the neckline which I also love, I wore this on an evening during my holiday and accesorised it with an old gold chain belt and gold drop leaf earrings from republic and old tan strappy small heeled sandals. The only downside I found with this dress is I couldn't wear underwear, major vpl! though now I am back home I can dig around and find some good seamless nude pants and all should be sorted. I have been converted! so much so that I bought another maxi, this time more loud and printed while I was on holiday!

how do you feel about maxis?

On holiday I eat Mainely lobster....

Hey guys! I am back from sunny Gran Canaria now and back in rainy england, though I have welcomed the drop in heat! I thought I would show you my nails that I got done the day before I left in order to have lovely hands and sandal ready toes. On my nails I got a coloured gel, I chose a  pale coral colour with a silver sparkle top coat. I loved it! the colour was lovely and it felt so smooth, best of all when i took the nails off my real talons underneath were stronger than they'd ever been thanks to being hidden from the harsh elements! I got this done via my bfs sister so I don't actually know how much it would cost, but I definitely rate gel nails, longer lasting than polish and less damaging than acrylics!.
Although I haven't got a picture my toe nails were adorned with OPI's I Eat Mainely Lobster, a lovely reddy coral, darker than that on my nails, which when in the bottle shows a subtle pink-gold glitter but this hardly transfers to the nail at all. Like all OPI's I've tried it applied like a dream

do you guys have any nail treats you love?

Sanctuary trim and tone body wrap review

trim and tone body wrap pack
instructions+measurement recorder, bandages, tape measure, body clay, exfoliating mitt
soaking the bandages
left over body clay

I bough this wrap in a I-must-get-holiday-ready splurge. I remember it being in the sale for around 16-17 pound I think. It came in a nice pack with a useful clear bag which will no doubt be re-used as a make up or toiletry bag.

Step 1: Measure. Measure the circumference of the area you are treating in 4 different places a couple of centimeters apart before you begin and record measurements on chart.

This was a little bit tricky with one person on areas such as arms and making sure the tape is not twisted etc, a friend would be helpful! although it says to measure 4x I only did once to save time.

Step 2: Prepare. Remove bandages from plastic wrappers and place in sink with warm water, do not unroll. allow them to warm while you prepare your skin. Exfoliate the treatment area using the dry loofah mitt. Rub the loofah on clean, dry skin in circular movements until skin is flushed, this stimulates circulation and allows the clay to penetrate more effectively.

The loofah I found very abrasive and a bit too rough on my delicate skin, although it was effective I would have preferred something a bit less harsh.

Step 3: Apply. Smooth clay in a thin even layer over treatment area. Keeping bandage rolled squeeze out as much water as possible, begin to wrap starting from lowest point upwards.

This was again a step where a friend would have been appreciated. The bandages are very long ( I cut one in half so I could do both my thighs, tummy and arms in one application as I only originally had 4 bandages) and it was a bit fiddly to get them wrapped in a nice even pressure without flicking clay everywhere.

Step 4: Relax. Wrap your body in a warm towel or loose clothing. Stay warm and relax for a minimum of 60 minutes. At the end of the treatment time remove the bandages and rinse or flannel off any remaining clay and pat dry.

This was the easiest part! I snuggled in my boyfriends dressing gown and watched tv for a blissful hour.

RESULTS

After washing the clay off I did feel slightly firmer, but I knew that was probably just in my head and the proof would be in the measurements.

arms: 0.8 inch total loss
thighs: 2 inch total loss
stomach: 0 inch total loss

Although it is not the most dramatic loss, and these measurements can't even be completely credible as I went by memory on where I last measured and the trickiness of one person tape measuring. However My skin felt very soft and the loss did make me feel very good about myself.  I doubt that I would purchase this if it was not on sale however I am happy with the price I bought it for as I have enough clay for more applications and it offers me a nice few hours of relaxation if nothing else.

Holiday lips

top-bottom: Rimmel- Coral queen, L'oreal colour riche- nude, all No 7 liplicious- cherry kiss - tangerine twist-  caramel- angel cake

So I tried to cut down my make up bag for holiday to leave more room for other items ( I didn't do that much of a good job!) however I did manage to trim it down somewhat and these are the lip products which made the cut;
First the lipsticks, I have one neutral nude-y shade and one bright. I love the formulations of both these lipsticks, very moisturising and glossy, the nude shade is not really my perfect match but it will do untill I find another. The coral shade is definitely not for the faint hearted, if i'm not feeling to bold it looks great just dabbed on as a subtle stain as well as straight from the tube.
Then the lipglosses, these are actually a very recent addition to my lip product collection, my flat mate was having a clear out before we move into our new house next year and she offered these too me. I'm not normally a lipgloss fan at all, I find it too sticky, but these aren't as sticky as others I have tried and with a lovely colour range I am happy to give them a space in my make up bag :) Of course I will be taking some standard lipbalms as well.

do you have any holiday lip product staples?
